Root Canal Therapy
Root Canal Therapy, also known as Endodontic Therapy, is a pain-relieving dental treatment that is done to repair and save a tooth that has an inflammation or infection within the roots. It includes removing the inflamed soft tissue (the pulp) and disinfecting the affected area thoroughly before adding a crown or filling in the hollow space, thereby saving the natural tooth and preventing the need for an extraction.
Root Canal Retreatment
With proper care, teeth that have had root canal therapy done can last a lifetime. In certain cases, a tooth that has been treated before may not heal properly or may get infected again and can become painful even years after treatment. If your tooth failed to heal, in most cases our doctors will be able to redo the root canal and give your tooth another chance.
Apicoectomy
In some cases, it is necessary to remove the infected root tip and its surrounding area through a minor surgery called an apicoectomy. An apicoectomy is a straightforward, minor surgical procedure that is done to save at-risk teeth and to prevent potentially serious complications. The region around the root tip and the surrounding tissue is cleaned and the tip of the root is sealed in with a biocompatible element.
CBCT
A 3D Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is as imaging technology that allows dentists to evaluate the underlying bone structure, as well as the nerve pathways and surrounding soft tissue. These scans are quick, and in most cases, a full scan can take less than a minute. We use CBCT so that we can give our patients the most accurate diagnosis along with the best long-term treatment options available.
